Ontario’s Young Farmers: In 2022 David and Jenn had the chance of becoming Ontarios Outstanding Young Farmer of the year. The award recognizes farmers who demonstrate excellence in farming and promote tremendous contributions to agriculture. The process began by completing a detailed application form and a PowerPoint presentation. The next step in the process was to be interviewed by a panel of judges who look for specific criteria, such as, career progress, environmental stewardship, production history, financial management, practices and progress, and contributions to the community. After completing this process at Canadas outdoor farm show near Woodstock in September 2022 Jenn and David were honoured to accept the award as Ontario’s Outstanding Young Farmer of the year. As the winners of this award they would be attending the national conference in Saskatchewan in November 2022. While in Saskatchewan Jenn and David felt immense pride to represent Ontario. The 2022 national winners were from Quebec and Saskatchewan. Since the conference, Jenn and David have stayed connected with all the honourees sharing the ups and downs of farm life and personal life. Jenn and Dave will will always be proud to represent and accept the Ontario 2022 award and continue to grow along side all the 2022 national honourees.
