Shabatura Produce
Located in Waterford, Shabatura Produce is a family run farm that has been passed from father to son since the 1900’s. Shabatura Produce is dedicated to maintaining the highest quality of produce through strict adherence to federal and provincial food safety laws. They strive to provide a safe and pleasurable working environment for employees and an enjoyable customer service experience for consumers. They grow a wide variety of produce such as cabbages, sweet corn, strawberries, tomatoes and peppers. At Wholesome Pickins we sell their bell peppers and field tomatoes in our market.
The Cider Keg
The Cider Keg is family run business nestled in the heart of Norfolk County near Vittoria. Their business consists of 100’s of acres of orchard and farmland that surrounds their farm market and cider mill. All of their products are made on site. The Cider Keg’s Sparkling Apple Cider is a beverage every member of your family can enjoy as it is non-alcoholic. No artificial sugars are added to the ciders, only the natural sugars found in the fruit. We carry their award-winning sparkling cider in a variety of flavours, along with a variety of different jellies, jams and apple butter. You have to try their Pie-In-A-Jar… it’s delicious!
Pais Family Farm
The Pais family manages more than 100 acres of fruit trees on their farm in Simcoe. They produce fresh sweet cherries, peaches, plums and apples; many of which are grown in high tunnels to aid with climate control. The Pais family is such a joy to deal with and you will always find each of them working hard with a smile! We enjoy our relationship with them and look forward to carrying each new product as it comes into season. They also sell products locally at their bustling roadside stand just south of Renton.
Welsh Bros
Welsh Bros, is located in Vanessa. Welsh’s sell a variety of different produce. But, what we really love them for, is the SWEET CORN! These guys know how to grow it! The best corn in the county. We get our delicious corn daily from our friends at Welsh Bros up the road.
Jensen Cheese
Jensen Cheese, based in Simcoe, is a national award winning, family-owned manufacturer of traditional artisan cheddar and variety cheese. They have been producing top quality cheeses since 1925 and the family tradition of artisan cheese is the company’s primary focus. Their attention to detail ensure that all of their products contain an old fashioned, full-bodied flavor. The people at Jensen Cheese really make this company special. They do truly put customers first. Couple that with a divinely delicious product and you have one great local partner!
Nightingale Farms
Nightingale’s, located in LaSalette, are celebrating over 60 years in the business of farming. They pack and ship over 35 million pounds of fresh produce annually and their vast product variety makes them a go to farm for diversity. We pick up many of their products daily, such as zucchini, cantaloupe, watermelon, tomatoes, peppers and beans. They also grow organic produce.
VG Meats
VG Meats is owned and operated by the Van Groningen family and has been serving the Norfolk area since 1970. Located in Simcoe, VG Meats offers the finest homegrown beef from their own herd of cattle. All of the cattle are raised on a vegetable based diet without the use of growth promoting steroids. This ensures a product that is pure and natural so that your family doesn’t have to worry about what they’re eating. They carry a diverse line of award winning meats and always keep growing local at the center of the operation. Truly a family operation, we carry many of their products like frozen hamburgers and steaks, hotdogs, Norfolk sausage and pepperettes.
Berlo’s Best Sweet Potatoes
The VanBerlo Family grow, pack and ship “Berlo’s Best Sweet Potatoes” year round just outside of Simcoe. They provide customers across Canada with the finest quality produce and are the number one grower of Sweet Potatoes in the Country. We are fortunate to call these farmers our friends and you can often find Pete fixing equipment on our farm! Stefek Farms and Blizman Produce
Each of our families have spent generations living around the same country block! Both Stefek’s and Blizman’s provide our market with a variety of potato products we are proud to say at the best in the province! Years of growing experience, hard work and innovation have made us lucky to share the block with these farmers. Proud to call them friends, we look forward to the years when our next generations each work they way into family history.
Ryder Farms Inc.
Third generation farm located outside of Lynedoch, Jackie and Jason Ryder have been active in the farming industry for many years. Jason currently sits on the asparagus board and is always involved in a variety of industry aspects. Ryders supply us with delicious asparagus, green onions and horseradish. Ryders manufacture Dennis’ Horseradish and each step of growth and production is done locally. You can find a variety of Dennis’ Horseradish flavours in our market.
Kernal Peanuts
Kernal Peanuts Ltd. is the largest peanut grower in Canada. It is owned and operated by Ernie and Nancy Racz of Vittoria, Ontario. They farm with an active approach to the Green Initiative and produce all of their peanuts right here in Norfolk. We carry many of their different and delicious products such as white chocolate popcorn, chocolate coffee beans, peanuts and peanut brittle.
